Consultant Gastroenterologist (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering high‑quality care for gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders, performing advanced endoscopic procedures, and supporting multidisciplinary teams in a modern hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy and, where applicable, ERCP.
• Interpret imaging, laboratory and endoscopic findings to develop evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations and participate in on‑call duties.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, dietitians and other specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records in line with Saudi healthcare regulations.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and patient safety programs.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and allied health staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum five years of post‑qualification experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy.
• Eligibility for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) licensing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, fast‑paced clinical environment.
