Consultant – General Surgery & Vascular

About the role

The Hospital is seeking an experienced Vascular Surgeon to provide consulting, operative and attending services for patients of all ages. The role involves managing both elective and emergency cases in vascular and trauma surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform major, minor and emergency vascular and trauma surgeries, including pre‑ and post‑operative care.
• Provide outpatient consultations and attend to hospitalized patients, ensuring continuity of care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory studies and X‑ray examinations to establish diagnoses.
• Participate in peer‑review, morbidity‑mortality meetings and quality‑assurance activities.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists on anesthesia choices and with other specialists for multidisciplinary care.
• Contribute to departmental meetings, in‑service training, and development of clinical guidelines.

Required profile

• Graduation from an approved medical school with internship.
• Three years residency in Vascular Surgery and a postgraduate Master’s degree or equivalent fellowship approved by HAAD.
• HAAD license to practice and at least three years exclusive practice in Vascular Surgery.
• Fluent English for documentation and communication; basic medical Arabic is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of medical ethics and compliance with JCI, HAAD, ISO standards.
