Consultant Infectious Disease – Sharjah

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah. The role involves delivering expert clinical care, managing complex infectious cases, and leading infection prevention initiatives within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead management of complex cases such as sepsis, HIV, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis.
• Develop and implement antimicrobial stewardship programs and infection control policies.
• Collaborate with intensive care, internal medicine, microbiology, and public health teams.
• Participate in outbreak investigations, surveillance activities, and infection prevention initiatives.
• Oversee isolation protocols and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Educate and train medical staff on infection prevention and control practices.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and hospital governance.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Infectious Diseases (mandatory).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Consultant Infectious Disease specialist.
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing (MOHAP for Sharjah).
• Strong clinical judgment, decision‑making, and leadership abilities.
