Consultant Oncology & Hematology

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE is hiring a full-time Consultant Oncology & Hematology. The consultant provides expert care for cancer diagnosis and treatment, hematological disorders and systemic anticancer therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage solid tumors, hematological malignancies and benign blood disorders, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and anemia
• Develop individualized treatment plans using chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and other evidence-based treatments
• Manage patients with breast, lung, gastrointestinal and other malignancies within their area of expertise
• Interpret investigations such as bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometry, molecular testing, CT, MRI and PET-CT
• Monitor treatment response, manage therapy-related complications and provide ongoing follow-up
• Manage coagulation disorders, thrombosis and other complex hematological conditions
• Take part in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and coordinate care with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists
• Provide supportive care, symptom management and palliative care referrals, and educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options and side effects
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, treatment protocols, medication safety and patient safety standards

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree
• Postgraduate qualification in Hematology, Oncology or Hematology-Oncology, with training and credentials covering both specialties
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification; American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred
• Eligible for the appropriate DOH Consultant specialty classification and license in Abu Dhabi, with relevant clinical privileges, subject to UAE PQR requirements
