Consultant Ophthalmology

About the role

A full-time, on-site Consultant Ophthalmology position based in Dubai. The consultant provides comprehensive ophthalmic care, including outpatient consultations, diagnostic evaluations and management of a wide range of eye conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as appropriate
• Interpret diagnostic tests and create evidence-based treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and supervise junior medical staff where applicable
• Maintain accurate medical records in line with regulatory standards
• Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
• Support patient education to improve outcomes and experience

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialist training in Ophthalmology
• Board certification or equivalent specialist registration, with eligibility for UAE licensing
• Proven experience diagnosing and managing common and complex eye conditions, including surgical and non-surgical interventions
• Full-time on-site availability in Dubai, with flexibility for on-call duties
• Experience teaching, mentoring or supervising junior clinicians is an advantage
