Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

About the role

The Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon will join the Division of Orthopaedics at SEHA, providing expert clinical care to children with musculoskeletal conditions. The role combines direct patient management, supervision of junior staff, and participation in departmental performance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat paediatric orthopaedic patients according to best‑practice standards.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and ensure appropriate documentation.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and assume responsibility for their patient care.
• Support the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment, and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Participate in performance management processes, including peer review and productivity assessments.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, attend divisional meetings, and contribute to multi‑disciplinary care planning.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Paediatric Orthopaedics (American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, or other recognised Western board).
• Minimum 5 years post‑specialisation experience in paediatric orthopaedic surgery.
• Current DOH (Abu Dhabi) licence or eligibility.
• Qualification from SEHA Tier 1 or Tier 2 and proof of yearly CME.
• Experience in JCI‑accredited hospitals is preferred.
