Consultant Pain Management

About the role

The Abu Dhabi Region is seeking an experienced Consultant Pain Management physician to join its multidisciplinary team. The role involves delivering high‑quality pain management and paediatric anaesthesia services while supporting departmental initiatives and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards in pain management and paediatric anaesthesia.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and ensure safe, effective care.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Participate in peer‑review, productivity, and utilization review processes.
• Coordinate with other specialties, support services, and multidisciplinary meetings to plan holistic patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SEHA regulations, licensing, and CME requirements.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment, and administrative duties as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Anaesthesia.
• Board certification (American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, or equivalent) and fellowship or additional certification in Paediatric Anaesthesia.
• Minimum five years of post‑specialisation experience in Paediatric Anaesthesia.
• Current national medical licence and proof of yearly CME.
