Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist (Dubai)

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead its Pediatric Cardiac ICU. The role involves delivering expert critical‑care management for neonates, infants and children with congenital or acquired heart disease, both pre‑ and post‑operatively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical‑care for pediatric cardiac patients, including pre‑operative stabilization, post‑operative management, and care during interventional cardiology procedures.
• Manage heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, ECMO, mechanical ventilation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Lead daily PCICU rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care plans and ensure on‑call coverage for cardiac emergencies.
• Interpret echocardiography, hemodynamic studies and advanced imaging to guide treatment.
• Contribute to strategic development, clinical pathways, quality‑improvement initiatives and mentor junior staff.
• Engage families with clear communication and support long‑term care planning.
• Participate in research, teaching and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Anesthesiology with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
• 8–10 years of post‑specialisation experience in a high‑volume cardiac centre, including consultant‑level practice.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority Consultant licensure.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
