Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

About the role

A leading tertiary-care hospital in Dubai is looking for an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join and help lead its Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). The role provides expert critical care for neonates, infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease, including pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical patients, interventional cardiology cases and complex cardiac emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical care: pre-operative stabilization, post-operative care after congenital heart surgery, care during interventional procedures, and management of heart failure, arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies
• ECMO, mechanical ventilation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring, with daily PCICU rounds and coordination of multidisciplinary care plans
• Interpret echocardiography, hemodynamic studies and advanced imaging, and provide on-call coverage for pediatric cardiac emergencies
• Help develop and expand the PCICU service, update clinical pathways and quality improvement initiatives, and mentor junior physicians, fellows and nursing staff
• Communicate clearly with families, support decision-making and long-term care planning, and promote family-centered care
• Take part in clinical research, audits and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution
• Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Anesthesiology, with fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience, including consultant-level practice in a high-volume cardiac center
• Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensure
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
