Consultant Pediatric Emergency - Dubai

About the role

The leading tertiary‑care hospital in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to deliver high‑quality, timely care to infants, children, and adolescents in its busy Emergency Department.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive emergency assessments and manage acute medical, surgical and trauma cases.
• Lead pediatric resuscitations, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Carry out emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and fellow emergency physicians.
• Contribute to strategic development, clinical pathways, quality‑improvement projects and departmental governance.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff, and engage in teaching activities.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans and follow‑up instructions compassionately to families.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization (American Board, Royal College, Arab Board or equivalent).
• Minimum eight years (96 months) of relevant clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, teaching and research involvement.
