Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join its Pediatric Emergency Department. The role involves delivering rapid, compassionate care to infants, children and adolescents while shaping departmental strategy and education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for acute medical, surgical and trauma cases.
• Lead pediatric resuscitation, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and other emergency physicians.
• Contribute to strategic development, clinical pathways, quality‑improvement initiatives and departmental governance.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to families and support them during high‑stress situations.
• Participate in teaching, clinical research and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, or equivalent.
• 8–10 years post‑specialisation experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma and acute care.
• Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
