Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist

About the role

Stafmed is recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist for a full-time position with a leading hospital in the UAE. The successful candidate will diagnose and manage gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic and nutritional disorders in infants, children and adolescents, providing advanced, evidence-based care in a progressive, patient-centred clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage pediatric gastrointestinal disorders, including IBD, celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux, chronic abdominal pain and motility disorders
• Manage pediatric liver diseases, nutritional deficiencies and feeding difficulties
• Perform pediatric gastrointestinal procedures such as endoscopy and colonoscopy where appropriately trained and credentialed
• Develop individualised, evidence-based treatment plans and monitor growth, nutrition and long-term outcomes
• Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, dietitians and other specialists, and counsel parents and caregivers
• Maintain accurate medical records, take part in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement, and support medical education and departmental development

Required profile

• Board certification or a recognised specialist qualification in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Tier 1 qualification such as ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST or an equivalent, where applicable
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP, as applicable
