Consultant Pediatric Neurologist

About the role

The Consultant Pediatric Neurologist will deliver specialised care for infants, children and adolescents with neurological disorders across M42 facilities. The role combines clinical expertise, multidisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to evidence‑based practice.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of paediatric neurological conditions, including epilepsy, developmental delays, neuromuscular and movement disorders, headaches and neurogenetic diseases.
• Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Interpret and utilise diagnostic investigations such as EEG, EMG/NCS and neuroimaging.
• Provide acute and chronic care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Offer consultation to paediatricians, neonatologists, intensivists and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and care planning.
• Support quality‑improvement, clinical governance and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Engage in teaching, mentoring and professional development of medical staff and trainees.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency in Pediatrics and fellowship/specialist training in Pediatric Neurology.
• Board certification in Pediatric Neurology (e.g., Arab Board, American Board, European Board).
• Eligibility for Consultant licensure with the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board/fellowship experience at Consultant level (preferred).
• Strong communication, leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities.
