Consultant Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

About the role

Astra ProMed is seeking an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to join its leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation services to children and adolescents with a wide range of physical and neurological conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage pediatric patients with physical, developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal impairments.
• Develop individualized, multidisciplinary rehabilitation plans aligned with each patient’s functional goals.
• Assess motor function, mobility, developmental progress, activities of daily living, and overall functional status.
• Coordinate care with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, nursing, and other allied health professionals.
• Determine the need for orthotics, prosthetics, mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and other assistive technologies.
• Manage spasticity and related complications using medical and interventional approaches.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Provide counseling and education to children, parents, and caregivers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with pediatric training or substantial pediatric experience.
• Relevant post‑specialization clinical experience as required by UAE PQR guidelines.
• Valid professional license or eligibility for DOH licensing in Abu Dhabi.
• Proven experience managing complex pediatric rehabilitation cases.
• Strong clinical assessment, planning, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when working with children and families.
