Consultant Pediatric Vascular Surgeon

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Pediatric Vascular Surgeon to join our team at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of high‑quality vascular care for children, ensuring evidence‑based clinical practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert diagnosis, treatment and management of pediatric vascular conditions, both inpatient and outpatient.
• Lead ward rounds, develop comprehensive treatment plans and prescribe appropriate therapies.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, including specialists, GPs and residents.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties.
• Deliver on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, covering evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital, DOH and infection‑control policies.
• Engage in quality‑improvement activities such as clinical audits, peer review and risk management.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, obtaining informed consent for procedures.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent with a recognized specialty training (Board Certification, Royal College Fellowship or equivalent).
• Post‑graduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) preferred.
• 3–7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Eligibility for a valid DOH licence in Abu Dhabi, including successful PSV and DOH exam where required.
