Consultant Physician – General Surgery

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Consultant Physician specialized in General Surgery to join SSMC in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering primary and specialized care to patients with injuries, illnesses, and surgical conditions, ensuring high‑quality diagnosis, treatment, and patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, take comprehensive medical histories, and address their concerns.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, communicating results clearly to patients.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventive health, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records.
• Develop and recommend individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications or therapies as appropriate.
• Explain medical procedures and ensure informed consent.
• Collaborate with other physicians, refer to specialists when needed, and work closely with nurses and healthcare staff.
• Adhere to medical regulations and confidentiality standards such as HIPAA.

Required profile

• Medical degree with completed residency and internship.
• Valid state license and certification to practice medicine.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating diverse medical conditions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, patient‑focused, compassionate, and patient.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with medical advancements.
