Consultant Physician – Medical Ophthalmology

About the role

SSMC is seeking a compassionate Consultant Physician specialized in Medical Ophthalmology to deliver high‑quality primary care to patients with eye‑related injuries and common illnesses. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, take detailed medical histories, and address concerns.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, communicating results clearly to patients.
• Develop and prescribe individualized treatment plans, including medications and therapies.
• Provide counseling on diet, hygiene, preventive health, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts with current findings.
• Explain medical procedures and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, assistants, and other physicians while ensuring compliance with medical regulations such as HIPAA.

Required profile

• Medical degree with completed residency and internship.
• Valid state license and certification to practice medicine.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating diverse illnesses.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
