Consultant Vascular Neurologist

About the role

A leading hospital in the UAE is recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Vascular Neurologist for a full-time position. The consultant provides advanced, evidence-based care for cerebrovascular diseases, including acute stroke, TIA and complex vascular neurological conditions, contributes to acute stroke management and works closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with cerebrovascular disorders
• Evaluate and manage acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA and other vascular conditions
• Take part in acute stroke assessment and treatment, including time-sensitive reperfusion therapy where trained and credentialed
• Develop individualized treatment plans for complex cases
• Coordinate stroke care with emergency medicine, neuroradiology, neurosurgery and rehabilitation teams
• Interpret neuroimaging and diagnostic investigations to guide decisions
• Provide secondary stroke prevention, risk-factor management and long-term follow-up
• Maintain accurate records, take part in clinical governance, audits, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Contribute to medical education, multidisciplinary training and stroke service development

Required profile

• Board certification or recognized specialist qualification in Neurology, with Vascular Neurology and Stroke Medicine expertise
• Tier 1 qualification such as ABMS, Canadian Royal College, UK CCT/CCST or equivalent, where applicable
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialisation experience in Neurology, with substantial cerebrovascular and stroke experience
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP, as applicable
