Control Panel Operator – Oil & Gas Plant

About the role

The Control Panel Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling process parameters across multiple oil, gas, and utility plants from the central Control Centre. The role ensures safe and efficient plant operation, responding quickly to alarms, upsets, and emergencies while supporting well‑pad and plant maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control continuous plant operations, identifying production limitations and recommending improvements to meet oil, gas, and water‑injection targets.
• Take timely remedial actions on process alarms or plant upsets to protect safety of personnel and equipment.
• Coordinate field activities including surface facilities PM, wellhead maintenance, flow‑line maintenance, and transfer‑line pigging.
• Interact with the fire & gas panel, initiate emergency shutdowns, and restore normal operations after incidents.
• Generate work requests for maintenance, manage work permits, and ensure equipment is returned to service after repairs.
• Communicate production variations and alarm information to field personnel.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring and controlling plant processes in an oil & gas environment.
• Familiarity with well‑pad operations, wellhead equipment, and surface facility maintenance.
• Ability to follow emergency procedures and safely shut down or restart plant units.
• Understanding of hydrocarbon accounting and coordination with production teams.
