Corporate Fleet Technical Superintendent

About the role

Based at the corporate office in Dubai, the Fleet Technical Superintendent oversees the cost‑effective repair, maintenance and overall technical management of the P&O Maritime Logistics fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Control and manage dockings, special surveys, upgrades, modifications, breakdowns, major accidents/incidents and projects.
• Support technical procurement, insurance matters and P&I claims, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget completion.
• Prepare detailed project, docking and repair specifications in collaboration with regional technical personnel.
• Liaise with central procurement to source cost‑effective spare parts and ensure their availability on site.
• Travel to vessels or sites as required and manage yard personnel, OEM service engineers, subcontractors and service providers.
• Interact with regional offices, country managers and insurance brokers to resolve technical issues and report claims.
• Contribute to tender preparation, cost control, budgeting and selection of repair yards.
• Support and monitor on‑board Planned Preventive Maintenance and update the NS5 system with project status.

Required profile

• Marine Engineering Class 1 Motor (or Class 2 with experience) or an Engineering/Naval Architecture degree, Master of Engineering Sciences, Mechanics, Electromechanical Engineering or Industrial Sciences.
• Minimum 5 years as chief engineer on offshore support vessels with a supervisory shore‑based role, or 10 years shore experience as a Technical/Dry Docking Superintendent.
• Technical expertise in design, development and systems integration, with strong CAD reading/design capabilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of major class societies (ABS, DNV‑GL, BV) and Planned Maintenance Systems (AMOS, NS5).
