Credit Specialist – Mortgages

About the role

First Abu Dhabi Bank is seeking a Credit Specialist focused on mortgage lending. The role supports UAE branches and the DSF by reviewing and recommending new credit facilities and extensions, ensuring compliance with bank policies and Central Bank regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse clients’ financial statements, bank statements and audited reports to assess creditworthiness.
• Prepare and evaluate credit proposals for mortgage loans, highlighting risks and mitigants.
• Ensure complete and accurate credit documentation and obtain necessary approvals.
• Manage exception reports and ensure timely resolution of incomplete or deferred security documents.
• Maintain productivity and audit reports, complying with internal and external reporting standards.
• Perform system checks, update the Credit Approval System (CAS) and process applications within agreed timelines.
• Execute EV and CPV assessments where applicable and adhere to the authorized decision matrix.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Banking or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a similar mortgage credit role.
• Strong understanding of UAE banking regulations and credit risk assessment.
