Data Engineer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation in Abu Dhabi that is heavily investing in Data & AI capabilities. As a Data Engineer you will design and maintain the scalable data infrastructure that powers advanced AI and machine learning solutions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data.
• Develop reliable data platforms capable of supporting large‑scale AI, machine learning and analytics workloads.
• Continuously test, monitor and optimise pipelines to improve performance, reliability and data integrity.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML and software engineering teams to make high‑quality data easily accessible for downstream applications.
• Implement strong data quality, validation, governance and security practices throughout the data lifecycle.
• Maintain clear documentation of data architecture, lineage and metadata.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development or data warehousing.
• Proven ability to design and manage complex ETL/ELT workflows.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on performance diagnostics and data issue resolution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Required skills

• Airflow, dbt or Luigi for workflow orchestration.
• Python and SQL programming.
• Scala or Java.
• Experience with big‑data architectures.
• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS or GCP.
