Data Engineer – Big Data & Cloud (Dubai)

About the role

Akshaya IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its Dubai office. The role focuses on building and maintaining large‑scale data pipelines and warehouses using modern big‑data and cloud technologies. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment delivering reliable data solutions for business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and manage end‑to‑end data pipelines and data warehouses.
• Optimize scalable storage solutions and ensure high performance.
• Monitor data infrastructure for reliability, availability and security.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to pipelines and platforms.
• Document technical processes, data flows and best practices.
• Apply data governance principles to maintain data quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with the onsite Data Engineering team to deliver business solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of data engineering processes and infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong communication skills and a valid passport.
• Willingness to relocate to Dubai and work onsite five days a week.

Required skills

• Scala, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Shell Scripting.
• AWS services: EMR, Step Functions, Lambda, Glue.
• Data ingestion tools: Sqoop, Flume, Kafka.
• Databases: Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
• Star Schema and Dimensional Data Modeling.
• Experience with structured and semi‑structured data ingestion and streaming platforms.
