Data Manager

About the role

As a Data Manager at ALEC Holdings, you will lead the implementation of the data strategy, manage the enterprise data platform and drive the creation of AI‑ready data foundations that support smarter business decisions across the construction group.

Key responsibilities

• Translate data strategy into a phased roadmap, report progress and risks to senior management.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the enterprise data platform, including security, reliability and platform transitions.
• Define and enforce data architecture, lake‑house layers, medallion structure and reusable ingestion patterns.
• Establish data governance, security and compliance using Microsoft Purview.
• Lead master data standards and oversee onboarding of business systems onto the platform.
• Coach and grow a team of data engineers, set priorities and ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Deliver trusted data products, data marts and Power BI semantic models, promoting data literacy.
• Design a platform‑agnostic knowledge layer with retrieval‑augmented generation, semantic search and vector embeddings.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture or leading a data function.
• Proven track record managing major cloud data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks or AWS).
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate with senior leadership.
