Data Strategy and Governance Manager

About the role

The Data Strategy and Governance Manager will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Al Tayer Group’s enterprise data governance, privacy and compliance framework. Reporting to senior leadership, the role will own the rollout of the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and embed governance practices across all business units in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise data governance standards, policies and controls aligned with business objectives.
• Lead end‑to‑end implementation, rollout and ongoing enhancement of the Collibra platform, including data catalog, business glossary, data quality, lineage and workflow capabilities.
• Establish and run governance councils, working groups and executive workshops to drive data ownership, accountability and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and deliver training, change‑management and adoption programs for data owners, stewards, custodians and champions.
• Monitor compliance with UAE PDPL, GDPR and other regional regulations, conducting privacy impact assessments and remediation programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience leading enterprise data governance programmes.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience implementing the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management or a related field; certifications such as CDMP or DGSP are a plus.
• Proven track record working in large retail or diversified enterprises and managing cross‑functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and executive communication skills.
