Database Reliability Engineer

About the role

Fuse Energy is looking for a Database Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance and scalability of its data infrastructure. This remote position will work across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, building data pipelines that power analytics, reporting and product features.

Key responsibilities

• Own reliability, performance and scalability of database infrastructure (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse).
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics and product needs.
• Design and evolve analytical schemas, translating business logic into intuitive data models.
• Migrate and transform data from PostgreSQL to ClickHouse while ensuring performance.
• Develop and maintain DBT models that reflect business domains.
• Implement tests and data quality checks to guarantee trustworthy datasets.
• Identify and eliminate duplicates, improve data consistency and enforce clean modeling standards.
• Manage all database and infrastructure changes through IaC, minimizing direct DB modifications.

Required profile

• 3+ years in a backend or data‑focused engineering role.
• Strong SQL expertise and proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing schemas and building data models that reflect real‑world business logic.
• Familiarity with DBT or similar transformation frameworks.
• Understanding of data validation, testing and quality assurance practices.
• Experience managing infrastructure as code (Pulumi, AWS CDK) and treating databases as code.
