Demi Chef – Culinary Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Demi Chef to supervise kitchen operations for Emirates Flight Catering in Dubai. The role includes allocating work to sub‑ordinates, training junior staff, and ensuring food safety, quality and cost efficiency in daily production.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate work, monitor productivity and provide on‑the‑job training for kitchen staff.
• Supervise shift staff, ensuring quality of work and adherence to recipes, specifications and hygiene standards.
• Assist senior production staff, manage equipment utilization and daily resource allocation.
• Make decisions on product acceptance, request replacements and escalate issues as needed.
• Monitor HACCP records, update them promptly and take corrective actions for any deviations.
• Develop, test and revise recipes to reduce costs while maintaining quality, informing supervisors of trials.
• Propose cost‑saving measures in consultation with senior management.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by following specifications, albums and procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum Senior Secondary School certificate or Diploma in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts.
• At least 3 years of experience in the culinary field, including apprenticeships or industrial training.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask, manage tasks effectively and pay attention to detail.

Required skills

• HACCP compliance and food safety management.
• Operation and maintenance of culinary equipment.
