Demi Chef de Partie

About the role

Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, set among Dubai's dunes and rooted in Emirati culture, is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie. The role ensures the smooth running of the kitchen section and maintains the high standards of the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure consistency in preparing all food items for a la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards.
• Complete daily checks of mise en place and maintain proper product rotation in chillers to minimise waste.
• Keep work areas, utensils and equipment clean and follow kitchen policies, safety and sanitation rules, and HACCP controls.
• Liaise daily with outlet chefs on guest feedback and attend daily and monthly meetings with the sous chef and other meetings requested by the executive chef.
• Cover the night shift, hand over information to the next shift and keep the section tidy.
• Maintain good employee relations, motivate colleagues and support departmental training.

Required profile

• 2-3 years in a similar role in a five-star hotel.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and Hospitality School Certificate.
• Positive attitude, good communication skills, ability to work under pressure and to work alone or in teams.
• Ability to make decisions, administer disciplinary action, know products well and produce checklists.
• HACCP control knowledge.

Required skills

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications (an asset).
• Good product knowledge and HACCP understanding.
