Deputy Construction Manager

About the role

The Deputy Construction Manager will interpret business issues, recommend best practices, and solve complex operations problems within offshore projects. Acting as a specialist in Operations for the Fabrication function, the role leads functional teams and ensures safe, efficient project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve installation procedures and engineering to meet project and McDermott standards, ensuring safe execution.
• Supervise field engineers in planning, execution, material list preparation, and coordination with the Project Coordinator for timely procurement.
• Resolve technical problems during offshore installation and coordinate corrective actions.
• Liaise with fabrication hook‑up groups, providing marine support equipment and logistics assistance.
• Develop scope of work, assist in subcontract award, and manage fabrication coordination across engineering, SCM, design, and hook‑up.
• Lead the fabrication execution strategy, monitor progress, productivity, and budget, and report status to senior management.
• Conduct HAZID and readiness meetings, manage scope changes, and ensure AFC estimates are updated.
• Chair fabrication kick‑off meetings and maintain productive relationships with clients and third‑party representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in the offshore industry.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of design and offshore project execution.
