Deputy Manager - Stores & Logistics

About the role

An experienced Deputy Manager is sought to oversee logistics, freight forwarding, warehouse and inventory operations while driving process improvements and digitalization. The role covers end-to-end international freight and marine logistics, warehouse operations, and the introduction of automation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end international freight forwarding and marine logistics, delivering equipment, materials and supplies to vessels, customers and project sites on time and cost-effectively.
• Ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations, international shipping protocols, TDRA requirements and company QHSE standards, and oversee accurate preparation of logistics documents (invoice, packing list, AWB, COO, BOE).
• Oversee warehouse receiving, storage and dispatch, maintain accurate inventory records and run periodic stock audits.
• Act as subject-matter expert on modern logistics systems and AI-enabled tools, evaluating, piloting and deploying automation such as RPA, intelligent document processing and automated tracking and reporting.
• Drive process standardization, SOP development, ERP optimization and continuous improvement.
• Identify and mitigate risks of delays, customs clearance issues and supply chain disruptions, supervise stores and logistics staff, and monitor vendor and service-provider performance.
• Maintain audit-ready records and report regularly on shipments, inventory and operational performance.

Required profile

• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain or warehouse operations.
• 5-6 years of managerial or team leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in international freight forwarding and marine logistics.
• Knowledge of UAE ports, customs clearance, free zones and GCC logistics regulations.

Required skills

• ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Power BI, Power Automate, AI, RPA or logistics automation solutions are highly desirable.
• Leadership, analytical, vendor management and stakeholder coordination skills.
