Dermatology Specialist (Outpatient & Inpatient)

About the role

The Dermatology Specialist provides high‑quality, ethical clinical care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The role includes managing clinical risks, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and maintaining accurate medical records while pursuing continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily outpatient consultations for patients with skin diseases and provide inpatient dermatology consultations.
• Admit and manage patients requiring inpatient dermatologic care, including on‑call emergency coverage for dermatologic emergencies.
• Perform dermatologic procedures such as PUVA therapy, skin biopsy, cryosurgery, electrocautery, chemical peeling, curettage and excision.
• Plan and maintain daily work schedules, including leaves, vacations, holidays and after‑hours on‑call rotas.
• Participate in monthly hospital meetings, committees and occupational safety & health activities.
• Adhere to infection control policies, hand‑hygiene standards and waste‑reduction practices.

Required profile

• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience at specialist level (independent of country).
• At least 1 year specialist experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator.
• Basic medical degree and a recognised specialty qualification (fellowship/diploma) approved by UAE authorities.
• Active registration with the relevant UAE healthcare authority and valid life‑support certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
• Eligibility for registration with a recognized board (Royal College, Arab Board, MS, DM, MPhil, etc.).
