Design Engineer-Coordinator - Civil

About the role

The Design Engineer‑Coordinator – Civil will coordinate civil and structural design activities and NOC coordination throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables meet project specifications, applicable codes, standards and approved schedules. The role also supports multidisciplinary design interfaces and timely construction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate civil and structural design activities and NOC coordination, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, contractual requirements and schedules.
• Review drawings and technical documents, resolve design issues, and support approvals and construction execution across multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, including design review and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience on EPC, infrastructure, utilities, industrial or major construction projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors and construction teams.
• Familiarity with utility authority approvals (e.g., TAQA, DEWA, Etihad WE, SEWA).
• Professional engineering membership/certification advantageous.
• Training/certification in BIM, design coordination or relevant engineering software advantageous.

Required skills

• Civil and structural engineering principles and construction practices.
• Preparation and review of civil/structural drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Multidisciplinary design coordination and interface management.
• Design review, constructability review and technical problem solving.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and engineering/document review applications.
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit and Navisworks (advantageous).
• Handling RFIs, technical queries, design changes and document approval workflows.
• Strong technical coordination, communication and reporting skills.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic considered an added advantage.
