Design Engineer – Storage Solutions & Composite Structures

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the design, analysis and certification of custom composite storage solutions and piping systems for offshore and onshore projects. The role focuses on reinforced thermoset plastic vessels, tanks and related piping, ensuring compliance with international codes and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical gatekeeper, reviewing RFQs, specifications and drawings to recommend compliant composite solutions.
• Develop and certify design calculations, drawings and specifications in accordance with ASME RTP‑1, ASME NM.2, EN 13121, AWWA M45, API 15LR/15HR, BS 4994 and project standards.
• Perform stress‑strain, hydraulic and pipe‑sizing analyses, define laminate architectures and reinforcement sequences.
• Prepare technical tender packages, design reports, clarifications, deviations and regulatory submittals.
• Review and approve fabrication, layout and shop drawings, ensuring manufacturability and code compliance.
• Support composite fabrication processes such as filament winding, contact molding, secondary bonding and post‑cure, including testing and inspection.
• Collaborate with sales, project engineering, QA/QC, manufacturing and operations teams throughout project execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical and piping design of reinforced thermoset plastic vessels and storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of laminate mechanics and composite fabrication methods.
• Ability to conduct engineering calculations and produce compliant design documentation.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards listed above.
