Design Manager – Buildings, Infrastructure & Marine

About the role

Six Construct, a BESIX Group subsidiary, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its Engineering Department in Dubai. The role supports tendering and project delivery by managing multidisciplinary design processes for building, infrastructure and marine projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage external design consultants and specialist subcontractors, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements, budgets and schedules.
• Review and validate design submissions, calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Provide technical support to the Tender Department during bid preparation and support quantity take‑offs, design planning and risk assessments.
• Coordinate design reviews, technical workshops and stakeholder meetings during construction, and resolve technical issues on site.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with BESIX QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements and international design codes.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering; professional engineering certification is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering design and construction experience, including at least 5 years in a design‑manager or engineering‑manager role.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects across buildings, infrastructure and marine sectors.
• Experience with major contractors, engineering consultancies or design‑build organisations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of building, infrastructure and marine engineering design.
• Experience reviewing and coordinating structural, civil, architectural, MEP and marine engineering disciplines.
• Proficiency with international engineering codes and standards such as ACI, Eurocodes, British Standards, AASHTO, ASTM and relevant local regulations.
• Ability to develop practical, buildable and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
