Design Manager

About the role

Lead and manage design activities across multiple ultra‑luxury projects from concept through execution, supporting the Senior Director of Design and ensuring alignment with Amali's luxury vision.

Key responsibilities

• Critically review architectural and interior design submissions for quality, technical accuracy, buildability and brand compliance.
• Identify, challenge and resolve design and technical issues at detailed design stage, working hands‑on with consultants.
• Provide design direction on architecture and interiors, including spatial planning, detailing, material selection, finishes, lighting and bespoke joinery.
• Coordinate and lead design workshops, progress meetings and technical review sessions with multidisciplinary consultants.
• Support site teams in resolving design issues during execution and participate in site inspections, mock‑up reviews and quality walkthroughs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related design discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in design management on ultra‑luxury residential, hospitality or branded residence projects, preferably in the UAE.
• Proven ability to critically review design and resolve complex technical issues through detailed design and execution.
• Strong understanding of local authority processes, permitting requirements and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of architectural and interior detailing, high‑end materials and finishes.
• Experience coordinating with architects, interior designers, landscape consultants, engineers and specialist consultants.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and coordination abilities.
