Design Specialist Storage Solutions

About the role

The Design Specialist – Storage Solutions is responsible for leading drafting and design activities for storage tanks, vessels, piping spools and related accessories. The role translates engineering inputs, customer requirements and manufacturing constraints into accurate AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day drafting and design work for storage‑solution projects and guide a team of drafters.
• Prepare general‑arrangement, fabrication, nozzle‑orientation, piping spool, layout and detail drawings, as well as 2D and 3D models.
• Review customer specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, calculations and vendor information before design work begins.
• Assign, prioritize and monitor drafting tasks, ensuring progress against schedule.
• Check and approve drawings, models, bills of material and material take‑offs for accuracy, manufacturability and compliance.
• Apply NOV drafting practices, GD&T, drawing standards, document‑control and revision‑management procedures.
• Coordinate design interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, QA/QC, Procurement, Project Management, Sales and Operations.
• Ensure designs consider fabrication, assembly, transport, installation, inspection, testing and maintenance requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of relevant design and drafting experience.
• Proven ability to lead drafting teams and manage complex design projects.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
