Development and Projects Director – Commercial Real Estate

About the role

The Development & Projects Director will lead the design and construction portfolio for a leading commercial real estate firm in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee new developments and enhancements of existing assets, ensuring every project aligns with the company’s strategic goals and brand identity.

Key responsibilities

• Serve on the executive management team, shaping long‑term strategy and translating corporate objectives into annual departmental plans.
• Lead internal design specialists and external consultants to embed strategic vision into facility designs, reviewing and validating plans for regulatory compliance.
• Set project timelines, budgets and quality standards, monitoring contractor performance and enforcing compliance with local laws and industry best practices.
• Prepare and consolidate the departmental budget, track financial performance, control costs and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Drive a culture of excellence through structured performance reviews of project partners and internal teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in commercial real estate development or construction.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to contribute to executive‑level decision making.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory standards, budgeting and financial performance management.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
