Digital Content Specialist – Library and Learning Commons

About the role

The Library and Learning Commons Department at Zayed University is looking for a Digital Content Specialist to lead the technical production, maintenance, and user support of its digital platforms. The role focuses on emerging AI tools, web‑based services, and immersive technologies to enhance library services and learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web‑based applications and tools that support content delivery and library operations.
• Create and implement scripts (e.g., Python, R) to automate tasks, clean metadata, and improve user experience.
• Support the development, testing, and deployment of AI tools such as chatbots and automated service points.
• Set up and maintain immersive technology hardware and software, including VR headsets, AR applications, and interactive displays.
• Produce and edit multimedia learning objects (video, audio, interactive modules) and deliver technical training to faculty and students.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Digital Media, or Library Science (or equivalent experience in a library/academic setting).
• 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in digital content management, web application support, or emerging technology implementation.
• Demonstrated experience with generative AI tools, prompt engineering, or immersive technologies (VR/AR) is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Python programming for scripting and automation.
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and XML.
• Experience using APIs and handling data integrations.
• Video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere and Camtasia.
• Operation and troubleshooting of VR/AR hardware and interactive displays.
• Familiarity with generative AI models and prompt engineering.
