Director - Design and Projects Delivery

About the role

The Director – Design and Projects Delivery will lead the strategic planning and execution of all store openings, refurbishments and infrastructure projects for Apparel Group across Dubai. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures alignment with brand standards, sustainability goals and financial targets while managing a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the project delivery strategy for store openings, refurbishments and infrastructure developments.
• Lead long‑term planning, capital budgeting and program prioritisation in collaboration with Finance, Brand Heads and Maintenance.
• Establish governance frameworks and SOPs to ensure project control, standardisation and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the full execution lifecycle from concept and approvals to handover and post‑opening evaluation.
• Monitor cost, quality, safety and schedule metrics, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, architects and design teams to ensure alignment with brand identity and functional requirements.
• Build and lead a high‑performing project delivery organisation through succession planning, mentorship and performance reviews.
• Act as the primary interface with global brand principals and provide regular updates to C‑level leadership.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multi‑site retail expansion or hospitality developments.
• Strong knowledge of international design standards, construction methodologies, procurement practices and fit‑out execution.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale CAPEX programmes across multiple geographies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture; a Master’s in Project Management or MBA is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, LEED or similar are an advantage.
