Director, Financial Resources

About the role

The Financial Resources Department is seeking a Director to serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior university leadership. This senior finance professional will shape the institution’s financial health, sustainability, and long‑term vision.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary financial advisor to the Chief Administration and Finance Officer and other senior leaders, providing insights that influence institutional strategy.
• Develop and maintain the university’s long‑term financial framework, sustainability models, and strategic resource‑allocation plans.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, and the creation of sophisticated financial models and KPIs.
• Represent the university in high‑level negotiations with government bodies, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee internal control frameworks, risk management, compliance with regulations and international accounting standards, and all audit processes.
• Evaluate new ventures, programs, and capital projects, delivering robust business cases and financial viability assessments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior financial leadership within a complex organization, preferably in higher education.
• Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear strategic recommendations for boards and senior management.
• Strong track record of driving financial innovation, efficiency, and risk‑aware decision‑making.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with external partners and government entities.
