Director - Interior Design

About the role

The Director of Interior Design is responsible for developing and implementing overall interior design concepts, managing design processes and consultants, and ensuring the success of Al-Futtaim Real Estate projects from pre-concept design through to construction documentation. The role provides creative and technical leadership to maintain and improve the group's interior design standards in new and existing properties.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the interior design function and projects from concept to completion, managing multiple projects with a coherent design process.
• Develop interior design brand standards and guidelines in line with Al-Futtaim Private Properties' vision.
• Create guidelines, design and technical standards, and FF&E and OS&E specifications for the family.
• Ensure layouts, detailed drawings and FF&E specifications meet unified schemes according to the program.
• Assess the market, define requirements and qualification criteria, and recommend the selection of designers.
• Define design scope, help manage design agreements and contracts, control design costs, and verify and procure design documentation for each stage.
• Lead on-site observations during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
• Represent Al-Futtaim Real Estate in meetings reviewing proposals, contracts and mock-ups.
• Monitor departmental KPIs and motivate interior designer teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a relevant subject.
• 10+ years of experience in high-end or large-scale residential and hospitality projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of applicable standards, regulations and procedures.

• Concept design and mood board creation.
• Team management and leadership.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel) and MS Project.
