Director Legal & Compliance – Gulf, Libya & Egypt

About the role

The Director, Legal & Compliance – GLE will provide legal advice, protect the company’s interests and uphold ethical business standards across the Gulf, Libya and Egypt cluster. Based in Dubai, the role reports to the Regional Managing Counsel EEMEA and works closely with Business Practice Officers and other regional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance guidance to ensure alignment with corporate, regional and local regulations.
• Partner with Business Practice Officers to oversee compliance issues and co‑lead compliance committee meetings.
• Manage external counsel engagements, budgets and deliver cost‑effective legal services.
• Advise on commercial, contractual, privacy, anti‑corruption and competition matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, support licensing, product listings and interactions with government agencies.

Required profile

• A law degree with admission to practice in one of the GLE jurisdictions (Arabic‑speaking jurisdictions preferred).
• At least 10 years of post‑admission experience in in‑house legal/compliance or top‑tier law firm practice.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize under pressure and influence senior stakeholders.
