Director, Loan Portfolio Management

About the role

The Director, Loan Portfolio Management owns a defined loan portfolio and is accountable for both its optimisation and day‑to‑day management. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on execution, requiring independent judgement and escalation of complex matters when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Own and optimise a loan portfolio, balancing balance‑sheet, risk, credit and stakeholder considerations.
• Manage the existing loan book, including waivers, amendments, covenant monitoring, annual reviews and credit assessments.
• Drive portfolio transformation initiatives, system enhancements and strategic projects.
• Execute portfolio actions, address deteriorating or problem credits, and ensure robust credit monitoring.
• Prepare and present clear, well‑reasoned recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• 12+ years of relevant banking experience, with at least 5 years in corporate loan markets and portfolio management.
• Proven track record in loan portfolio management, credit risk, and active asset management.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field; MBA or CFA advantageous.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong awareness of UAE, regional and international markets and P&L responsibility.
