Director, Money Markets

About the role

The Director, Money Markets will optimise the bank’s money‑markets function across all locations, driving net interest margin improvement while ensuring compliance with Basel III, local liquidity regulations and internal ALCO policies. The role also supports Sharia‑compliant treasury activities and acts as a backup for the Funding Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise allocation of the bank’s liquid assets and short‑term borrowings across all locations to maximise margins while complying with liquidity regulations.
• Manage the UAE money‑book investment returns, ensuring sufficient liquidity and adherence to ALCO and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee centralized treasury functions for the Bahrain branch and allocate FX/MM limits to overseas branches.
• Develop and maintain the bank’s Contingency Funding Plan and annual funding plans for UAE, IBG and FI branches.
• Quote USD/AED and other GCC currencies for spot, forward and swaps, and manage foreign‑currency Nostro positions efficiently.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (Master’s preferred) with 9‑10 years of money‑markets and trading experience in a large institution.
• Proven leadership of a money‑markets function and strong knowledge of Basel III and other liquidity regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and lateral‑thinking abilities.

Required skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of Basel III liquidity regulations and treasury‑related policies.
• Hands‑on familiarity with operations/TOC processes and foreign‑currency Nostro management.
