Director of Development

About the role

The Director of Development will provide strategic and hands‑on leadership across the full development lifecycle of real‑estate projects. Working closely with senior management, consultants, architects, contractors and internal teams, you will ensure projects are commercially viable, thoughtfully designed, efficiently executed and delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development from acquisition and concept through completion and handover.
• Develop and implement project development strategies aligned with investment and business objectives.
• Oversee feasibility studies, development appraisals, budgets, cost plans and project timelines.
• Appoint and manage architects, design consultants, project managers, cost consultants, contractors and other specialist consultants.
• Coordinate statutory approvals, authority submissions, permits and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor budgets, procurement, risks and key development milestones, reporting progress and financial performance to senior management.
• Support procurement, tendering, contractor selection and commercial negotiations.
