Director of Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering provides high‑level property maintenance expertise for a Le Méridien hotel in Fujairah. The role oversees the building, grounds and physical plant, ensuring safety, security, asset protection and optimal financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering operations, budgets, capital‑expenditure projects and preventative‑maintenance programs.
• Oversee all building systems including HVAC‑R, electrical, plumbing, water‑treatment and fire‑life‑safety equipment.
• Administer service contracts, supervise construction projects and ensure timely, on‑budget completion.
• Lead emergency‑response teams and maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Control controllable expenses such as heat, light, power, water consumption and inventory.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 6 years engineering‑maintenance experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related field with 4 years experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must be a local Nigerian candidate.
