Director of Financial Reporting

About the role

A leading Abu Dhabi-based diversified group is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Reporting to lead its financial reporting, consolidation, statutory reporting, IFRS compliance, audit coordination and financial governance. The role ensures the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple business entities, supports executive leadership, audit committees and regulatory requirements, and oversees complex consolidations and technical accounting matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting across all subsidiaries and business units, and oversee group consolidation processes and cycles.
• Drive reporting consistency and standardization across the organization.
• Act as the group's subject matter expert on IFRS and technical accounting, assessing the accounting impact of complex transactions.
• Develop and maintain group accounting policies and reporting standards, and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Lead relationships with external auditors and regulators, manage annual audits and statutory reporting, and coordinate audit deliverables across entities.
• Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and strengthen internal controls related to financial reporting.
• Drive financial governance, reporting quality, compliance, risk management and financial control frameworks, and lead reporting process improvements and automation.
• Lead and develop financial reporting teams, partner with executive leadership and business leaders, support Board and Audit Committee reporting, and mentor finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; Master's degree is advantageous.
• Certified public accountant (CPA), ACCA, ACA, CA or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
• 15 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior financial reporting leadership position.
• Proven experience leading group consolidations and IFRS reporting, and experience in diversified groups, conglomerates, holding companies, family offices or publicly listed companies.
• Experience managing external auditors and regulatory reporting requirements.
