Director of Inclusion

About the role

The Director of Inclusion will lead the Inclusion department at GEMS World Academy‑Dubai, overseeing programmes that support a diverse, non‑selective student community. Reporting to senior school leadership, the role starts in January 2027 and focuses on enhancing student outcomes through inclusive practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the school’s inclusion strategy aligned with the IB Learner Profile.
• Lead a team of inclusion specialists, providing coaching, professional development and performance management.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders to adapt teaching and assessment for diverse learners.
• Analyse data on student progress and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of belonging among students, staff and families.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, etc.).
• Minimum five years of experience teaching or leading inclusion programmes, preferably within an IB school.
• Strong understanding of the IB framework and its Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
• Commitment to the IB philosophy and Learner Profile values.
• Passion for working in a culturally diverse, non‑selective environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme curricula.
• Experience with data‑driven decision‑making in education.
• Leadership and team‑management capabilities.
