Director of Investments

About the role

The Director of Investments will lead the allocation and management of Mashreq's investment portfolio across approved asset classes, driving revenue and ensuring alignment with the Investment Policy. This senior position reports to senior leadership and supports the Managing Director of FX Derivatives & Investments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present investment proposals for approval.
• Develop industry contacts to gain preferential access to information and opportunities.
• Source, research, analyze, and recommend investments that meet risk‑return and policy parameters.
• Execute, monitor, and divest investments to meet revenue budgets.
• Track total returns and ensure investments stay within defined risk limits.
• Maintain diversification, correlation, and volatility characteristics of the overall portfolio.
• Review and recommend updates to Investment Policy parameters.
• Act as backup for the Managing Director, FX Derivatives & Investments.
• Prepare quarterly portfolio and liquidity presentations.
• Ensure up‑to‑date MTM movements are tracked and recommend actions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in international capital markets covering the relevant asset categories.
• Strong numerical orientation and analytical ability.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
