Director of Physiotherapy

About the role

The Director of Physiotherapy leads the strategic development, clinical excellence, financial performance and operational management of the Physiotherapy Division at American Hospital Dubai, ensuring compliance with JCI accreditation, DHA regulations and global benchmarks.

Key responsibilities

• Direct overall operations of the Physiotherapy Division, including clinical, administrative and financial functions.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand services, improve patient access, outcomes and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget, staffing plan and resource allocation.
• Ensure continuous JCI accreditation and compliance, monitoring quality indicators and leading improvement initiatives.
• Oversee multidisciplinary patient care coordination and integration of treatment pathways.
• Monitor divisional KPIs such as patient satisfaction, treatment outcomes, throughput and wait times.
• Lead recruitment, performance appraisal, mentorship and professional development of staff.
• Promote research, innovation and digital health solutions including tele‑rehabilitation, EMR integration and AI‑enabled tools.

Required profile

• Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) or Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy.
• Valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license or eligibility.
• Minimum nine years of progressive physiotherapy experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Knowledge of physiotherapy clinical practices, regulatory standards and JCI accreditation requirements.
• Experience with evidence‑based protocols, quality improvement methodologies and clinical governance.
